PUVA stands for Psoralens combined with Ultraviolet A light. The hands are feet are soaked in a light sensitive solution called psoralens for 15 to 20 minutes. The hands and feet are then placed in a special box that produces ultraviolet A light.
Treatments are typically administered two to three times a week. It will often take 2 months for your condition to improve. Appointment times are flexible and are offered before and after work or school.
