Vbeam laser delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin. The light is absorbed be specific blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas in the dermis depending in the condition being treated. Factors such as age, color, and type of lesion as well as location, all determine whether lesions can be removed.

Safe, effective, and comfortable, pulsed dye laser has been shown to be effective for the treatment of:

  • Facial and leg veins
  • Freckles, sun and age spots
  • Poikiloderm (mottled or reddish-brown discolorations)
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Vascular lesions
  • Rosacea
  • Angiomas and hemanangiomas
  • Pigmented lesions

Treatment with the Vbeam may consist of multiple treatments. For facial veins, 1-2 treatments may be sufficient but additional treatments are not uncommon. These treatments occur on an average of every 6-12 weeks depending on the area and type of treatment.

Vbeam is the only pulsed dye laser that uses a dynamic cooling device (DCD) to protect and cool the skin during the procedure. This device maximizes client comfort, protecting the skin by delivering a shot of cryogen to the epidermis prior to each laser pulse. The feeling of the laser pulse has been described as being snapped by a rubber band or a slight stinging sensation. Most patients’ tolerate this procedure without any need for an anesthetic, but for some patient’s a topical numbing cream may be applied 30-45 minutes before treatment to reduce the sensation of the laser pulses. Following laser treatment, the area may continue to sting slightly or feel warm like sunburn. Appling ice packs post treatment can alleviate any discomfort experienced during the procedure.

Depending on the type and area of treatment, patients will have different post treatment results and regimes. Some patient’s may experience bruising or redness that lasts for several days up to several weeks, while others may only have slight redness for several hours.
