Dr. Matthew Fleming attended medical school, and completed his internship and dermatology residency in 1986 at SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn NY and his dermatopathology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 1988. He was full-time faculty at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center from 1988-1994 and the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1995-2009. He directed dermatopathology labs at both institutions and was also director of MCW’s immunodermatology lab for several years. In 2009 Dr. Fleming left MCW to start a private dermatopathology laboratory. In addition to directing the laboratory, Dr. Fleming entered dermatology practice in Menomonee Falls.

Dr. Fleming is board-certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology. He practices general dermatology but has special expertise in cases that require clinicopathologic correlation. He also is particularly interested in following patients at increased risk of developing melanoma, because of abnormal moles, family history, or previous melanoma.

Dr. Fleming is married and has two daughters. His personal interests include exercising, reading, and developing medical software.
